A Beautiful Day in Streaky Bay.

Posted by on April 13, 2011

Well, what a great day we have had here in beautiful Streaky Bay. After waking up to a perfect sunrise we went of to Point Labatt to visit the colony of Austrlian, and some New Zealand, Sea Lions. They have setup a great viewing platfor about 50m above the colony and the rugged coastline that offers a great view and allowed me to take full advantage of my 70-300mm telephoto lens and the 2x Teleconverter (or in other words a long zoom lens) to take some great shots of the Sea Lions and the coastline.

We then went to to a place in Streaky Bay called Mocean (get it “motion”) for lunch before taking a drive to Cape Bauer, not far from the caravan park we were staying in. We stopped at a place on the way around this loop road to Cape Bauer called Whistling Rocks, where I took some video and will try and put it onto the site for you to view.

I have added a few more photos to the previous posts so take a look.

Going to dinner at the local pub tonight before heading to Eluca tomorrow.

Bye for now,
Tom.
